FAQ

How the website works

Lametropolemobilite.fr is a service shared by local authorities and transport companies in the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolitan area.

t is an information site on travel and public transport (bus, coach, metro, tram, bicycle, carpooling, parking, electric charging, etc.).

Among other things, it provides timetables and maps of the lines of partner carriers.

It also offers route searches.

It provides all the information on nearby transport on an interactive map.

In the main navigation menu, you have direct access to the timetables of our partners’ lines.

On the home page or the “Maps & Timetables” page of the “Offers & Services” menu, click on the “timetables” shortcut; indicate the desired line and you will access its timetables.

You can also access the timetables, via the route solution’s route map, by clicking on the line then on the “View timetables” button.

To prepare your trips and find the travel solution adapted to your needs in the Aix Marseille Provence Metropolis area, a route calculator will guide you step by step.

The stages of research:

  1. In the “Itinerary” section, fill out the form, specifying:
  • the departure and arrival locations (mandatory)
  • the date and time of the trip (optional)
  1. See the solutions found by lametropolemobilite.fr in the results summary.
  2. Consult the detailed route map with precise directions for travel.

Indicate your place of departure and arrival

To indicate the departure and arrival location, use the input field. The site recognizes the following locations within the metropolitan area:

  • addresses
  • names of municipalities
  • points of interest (town hall, stadium…)
  • public transport stops (stop or station)

To validate your entry, click on the “Search” button.

Enter an address.

When entering an address, the postal code is not taken into account. It is not necessary to enter it.

For an accurate route solution, it is recommended to enter the street number. Sometimes the street reference database used by the site does not know a street number. In this case, the tool will suggest a calculation from the middle of that street.

Several choices available. Which one to choose?

If there is a spelling error or ambiguity in the name, the tool will offer you a list of possible results to choose from.

If the tool finds a place and a stop with the same name, we recommend that you choose the place instead (the solution search will be more efficient).

Consult the summary of results found

All the route solutions found are presented in a summary table. To access the detailed route map, simply click on the solution to get the details.

Read the roadmap

The road map gives you general information, followed by a detailed description of the different stages of your journey.

General information :

  • Departure time
  • Arrival time
  • Total journey time
  • Walking time on the journey

For each transit stop, the information provided is as follows:

  • mode of transport (represented by a pictogram)
  • stop (or station) of departure and arrival
  • stage start and finish times
  • the line and direction to take followed by the transport network indication
  • stage duration

Contactless payment

CONTACTLESS PAYMENT or Payment at the Validator allows you to pay for and validate your single ticket on board the bus, tram or metro with your contactless payment card, without having to buy a paper ticket at a terminal or in a shop.

Contactless payment is a convenient solution for occasional travelers who want to buy their tickets individually.

  • With CONTACTLESS PAYMENT or PAYMENT AT THE VALIDATOR, the ticket is your payment card.
  • This service offers a secure, simpler and faster mobility experience
  • You pay and validate your trip with your contactless payment card or a connected object.
  • You buy and validate with a single gesture. You don’t need to ask the driver for your ticket.
  • You no longer queue at ATMs,
  • You no longer have to throw away tickets or need change.

All CB, VISA and MASTERCARD bank cards are accepted.

You can also use your smartphone or smartwatch through the Samsung Pay, Google Pay and Apple Pay payment apps.

  • NOTE: When the first journey is validated with a payment card or a connected object, then, when making a connection and during a check, you must present the same connected object or the same payment card.
  1. Place your contactless payment card, phone, or smartwatch on the validator, recognizable by this symbol:
    zone-valideur.png
No need to insert it or enter your PIN.
  2. The message “payment card validated” is displayed.
  3. There you go! You will be charged the next day, based on the journeys made the day before.
  4. You can view your travel details on this site, under Contactless Payment, or directly on your bank statement.

Validation of the same contactless payment method is mandatory for each boarding, even when connecting.

The system works the same as for a single ticket.
Within the same commercial network, the contactless payment method must be validated each time you board, even when connecting.
When connecting, validation must be done with the same method that made the first tap.
A new payment with the contactless method is required to use another commercial network.

Full fare applies on board

Ulysse Network €1

Networks/lines Price of travel by payment at the validator
Marseille / RTM Network €1.70
Airport lines lecar+ 91 €10
Lecar+ 40 Airport Line €10

Check that:

  • your payment card is authorized and valid,
  • your payment card is affiliated with the Mastercard or Visa networks,
  • the “contactless payment” function is activated,
  • your payment card is in good condition,
  • the contactless payment limit is sufficient to authorize new transactions,
  • your bank account has sufficient funds.

Contactless payment is a proven, secure solution that has become part of our daily lives. This service meets all the security standards required for any contactless commercial transaction, and no personal data is stored (each validation is anonymous).

It is not possible to use your payment method for several people at the same time. The principle is that of one card (or connected object) = one person.

  • Airport Network: Lines 91 and 40 and lecar+ Networks: line 50 Aix-Marseille

Requests cannot be combined with the subsidized school bus subscription.

What do flat-rate transport subsidies mean?

  • Lump sum aid replaces mileage allowances
  • The Metropolis can cover, in the form of a flat-rate grant, a portion of the transport costs of half-board or boarding students residing in Metropolitan France. This grant only applies to students whose home-school journey cannot be provided by the Metropolitan road transport network.

What are the conditions for granting flat-rate transport aid?

  • Half-board students: aassistance granted on condition that the home is more than 3 km from the school or the nearest stopping point and in the absence of public transport.
  • Boarding students: assistance granted on condition that the home is more than 10 km from the school or nearest stopping point and in the absence of public transport.

How to benefit from lump-sum aid?

  • The family makes a request before December 31, via the Requests & Complaints page, section “Request a lump sum assistance (mileage allowance)” .
  • Any incomplete file will be rejected.
  • No files will be processed after December 31.

What supporting documents must be provided?

Half-board students

  • Proof of address less than 3 months old (tax notice for the current year, electricity or gas bill) of the legal representative domiciled in one of the municipalities of the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis
  • Child’s identity document
  • Family Record Book (page of the 2 parents and the child concerned by the file)
  • In the event of joint custody, provide the divorce judgment or, failing that, a certificate from both parents on plain paper stating their respective addresses and the custody schedule.
  • Certificate of education stating the status. If the student is enrolled in an establishment other than their local establishment, the specialty or option followed, justifying the distance.
  • Bank Identity Statement of the legal representative who registered the child
  • Declaration of honour, accompanied by a copy of the identity document, specifying the place of work of the legal representatives

Internal students

  • Proof of address less than 3 months old (tax notice for the current year, electricity or gas bill), of the legal representative domiciled within the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis
  • School certificate with mention of quality.
  • Bank Identity Statement of the legal representative who registered the child
  • Family record book (page of the 2 parents and child concerned by the file)

If the student is accommodated outside the establishment

  • Proof of accommodation + proof of address of the host + photocopy of the host’s identity document or proof of address in the student’s name
  • If the student is enrolled in an establishment other than their local establishment, the specialty or option followed justifies the distance.
  • The request is examined by the Customer Relations department, which will contact the family and indicate the follow-up given to the request.

How is the amount of flat-rate aid calculated?

  • The flat-rate aid is calculated on the number of kilometers traveled according to the terms defined in the school transport regulations
  • Payment of flat-rate transport assistance is subject to the number of days the student attends their school.
  • One payment in March and another in September.

Are large families eligible for Flat-Rate Assistance?

  • When 2 or more students in the same family are making the same journey, only one request will be taken into account.
  • If the journeys differ, the flat-rate aid may be granted for each child.

📌 First request or request for duplicate

If your child:

  • registers for school transport for the first time,

  • or has made a request for a duplicate card,

👉 The transport card will be sent to your home, to the address indicated in the registration form, after validation of the latter.

The subscription is preloaded onto the card. It must be validated the first time you board a vehicle.

🔁 Subscription renewal

If your child already has a transport card and is simply renewing their subscription for a new year:

👉 The subscription is sent by cable, without a new card.

Upon receipt of the registration file validation email:

  • your child can validate their card on board,

  • the subscription is topped up automatically upon first validation.

📍 Validation can be done on:

  • all validators for school or regular lecar and lebus lines (excluding RTM),

  • tram and metro validators,

  • or via ATMs and in La Métropole Mobilité stores.

📬 File tracking and receipt of the card or subscription

🔗 Access your file tracking by clicking here: File tracking

📋 Check the following:

  • That all supporting documents have been submitted and are compliant,

  • That your postal address is correct in your file,

  • That your file has been validated by the investigation service.

🧭 Possible steps in file monitoring:

  • 📥 Your file has been registered and is being processed.

  • 📎 Some parts are non-compliant: you must send them again.

  • ✅ Your application is accepted.

  • 🪪 The card was manufactured on [DD/MM/YYYY].

  • 📲 The teledistribution was sent on [DD/MM/YYYY].

  • ✉️ The card was sent on [DD/MM/YYYY].

When to contact Customer Relations?

  • Your file is accepted and either:

    • Your postal address is incorrect or incomplete (in the case of a first registration or a duplicate)
    • 15 days have passed since the card or teledistribution was announced on the file tracking

    • You registered before August 20, but as of August 28, neither card nor cable distribution has been sent.

    • You registered after August 31st, and 15 days later, nothing has been sent yet.

If you are in one of these four cases 📞 Call 0 800 713 137 (free call) or use this contact form

If the student is in shared residence, a single school registration is sufficient, as the School Pass is valid on all lines of the La Métropole Mobilité network. Your child can therefore use all school or regular lines that serve both parents’ homes.

The School Pass can be issued in 3 ways

  • Sent by teledistribution on the lacarte for schoolchildren who already have a card,
  • Charged on a duplicate if the student has lost their card and requested a duplicate during registration. This duplicate will be sent to their home (subscription price + 10 euros).
  • Uploaded to a card for schoolchildren who do not have one, and the lacarte will be sent to their home.

I already have a transport card, will I receive another one at the start of the school year?

Not all students with a lacarte transport card will receive a new card.
They will receive their School Pass remotely via electronic means.

Students who did not have a transport card or did not have a lacarte will receive a new one.
It is personal and works on regular and school lines as well as urban networks.

Students who have lost their card can order a duplicate at the time of registration, charged 10 euros in addition to the subscription.

Loss, theft, damage to the card, how to obtain a duplicate?

Requests for a duplicate can be made at a Métropole Mobilité store or online on this website, under the school transportation section.
A duplicate can be requested at the same time as registration.
The cost of a duplicate is €10.

My card doesn’t work, what should I do?

Check that lacarte is not silent :

A so-called “mute” or “unusable” card is easily identifiable: when you swipe this card over a validator, it generates no message, neither a green nor a red beep. The card is damaged and unusable.
If your card is mute, you must go to the point of sale with your card and request a duplicate. The mobility advisor will confirm that your card no longer works and will issue you a duplicate:

  • free if it is mute, but not broken, bent or damaged.
  • paying €10 if it is broken, bent or damaged.

Check that your card is topped up:

To find out the contents of your card, there are several options available to you:

  1. Register your card on the online store
  2. Ask the driver to read the contents of your card, which he will print on a ticket. The tickets on your card will be listed on the ticket.
  3. Check the contents of your card at ATMs.

If the subscription is present on your Card,

  • check the validity dates (if the subscription has expired, re-register on the site)
  • Check if your card works on other vehicles
  • If your card is not valid on any vehicle, send the ticket and the description of the vehicle used (Network/Line/Stopping point/date and time) via this form

If the subscription is not on your Card even though your registration has been validated, contact Customer Relations via this form

I registered my child this summer and I still haven’t received their card.

  • Check in the follow-up that your file has been accepted.
  • Check that the card’s shipping date is indicated in the Tracking. If the shipping date is not indicated, your card has not yet been manufactured.
  • Check in the “track my file” that your address is entered correctly (number, street, building, floor, apartment number, etc.)
  • If the address is incomplete, contact Customer Service via this form
  • If 15 days have passed since the sending date and you still have not received lacarte, contact Customer Relations via this form.

Make sure in the follow-up that your file is accepted and your teledistribution has been sent for at least 48 hours.

  • If you tried to retrieve your cable TV in a vehicle: Contact Customer Relations using this form.
  • If you went to the store and were unable to collect your cable TV despite the intervention of a mobility advisor at the counter, contact the Customer Relations department using this form

We only guarantee that school registration on La Métropole Mobilité will work properly on a Windows computer with the latest version of Edge or Chrome. In addition, we recommend:

  • Clear your browser history and cache and restart your computer.
  • to download the latest version of the Edge or Chrome browser

Despite the message noted in the paragraph during registration, PDF format is not accepted for the photo. Only JPG format is accepted.

If you get a blank page after requesting your ID photo, start the registration again and use a JPG photo.

PDF format can be used for supporting documents only.

If you made a duplicate school lacarte in store less than 48 hours ago and it is not displayed during registration, you must wait another 24 hours.

The new card should appear on the registration form 72 hours after it is produced.

If the new card is not displayed after 72 hours, contact Customer Relations via this form

Several possibilities:

  1. You recently made a duplicate school card, and it’s not showing up.
The lost card is showing up. Wait 48 to 72 hours before registering, allowing our systems to process this recent duplicate. If the new card isn’t showing up after 72 hours, contact Customer Relations using this form.
  2. You didn’t make a duplicate.
You no longer have the card displayed, but you have another one that isn’t displayed and isn’t a duplicate of the card displayed: the student may have another card linked to the Métropole’s old ticketing systems.
We can’t register it on this card.
  • If another card is displayed, request a duplicate
  • If no card is displayed, we will send you a new card on the new ticketing system.

Payments in 3 installments are only permitted via the website and from an amount of €60 for any registration before September 30 of the current school year.

When paying for registration online by bank card, the family can therefore pay in 3 installments if they wish for a School Pass whose amount is equal to or greater than €60 (per child registered).

  • The first monthly payment is taken on the day of online registration and payment of the subscription.
  • The 2nd monthly payment is taken on the 8th of the following month.
  • The 3rd monthly payment is taken on the 8th of the month and later.

For the School Pass without RTM, the monthly payments are calculated as follows:

  • 50% of the amount for the first monthly payment
  • 25% of the amount for the 2nd monthly payment
  • 25% of the amount for the 3rd monthly payment

For School Passes with RTM, with or without reduction, the monthly payments are calculated as follows:

  • 40% of the amount for the first monthly payment
  • 30% of the amount for the 2nd monthly payment
  • 30% of the amount for the 3rd monthly payment

Example :

– Price €220 Metropolitan School Pass with RTM

  • €88 on the day of registration (e.g. July 5)
  • €66 on the 8th of the following month (e.g. August 8th)
  • €66 on the 8th of the last month (e.g. September 8)

– Price €60 Metropolitan School Pass without RTM

  • €30 on the day of registration (e.g. July 5)
  • €15 on the 8th of the following month (e.g. August 8th)
  • €15 on the 8th of the last month (e.g. September 8)

If the bank card used has been blocked between the first payment and the other two monthly payments, the family must contact the Métropole to report this by logging into La Métropole Mobilité / Section: Contact / Purpose of the request: 3.1 School / Type of request: Registration/application supplement.
The Métropole will contact the family and resend a payment to the new credit card by email.

Choosing this payment option is binding.
In the event of non-payment of a monthly payment, the Métropole reserves the right to cancel the student’s school subscription.
In the event of an unpaid monthly payment, the Métropole will only retry the payment request once.
If this second attempt fails, the Métropole will cancel the student’s school subscription.
The Métropole reserves the right to cancel this online installment payment service at any time in the event of a problem.

Free school transport subscription for refugee schoolchildren from Ukraine

Ukrainian refugee families can register their children aged 3 to 18 (Terminale) for free school transport.
The school hosting the child will contact the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolitan Area school service and will prepare a request for a file including:

  • a photocopy of the child’s legal representative’s passport
  • provisional residence permit for beneficiaries of temporary protection
  • an ID photo of the child

Registration entitles the child to a school transport card valid for the current school year, allowing them to travel between their home or foster home and the school.

This card also allows you to use La Métropole Mobilité transport lines (including weekends and school holiday periods).

NB: The card will need to be renewed at a later date under conditions to be specified later.
The card must be validated each time the child boards the bus, in accordance with school transportation regulations.

Children not in school can benefit from a 7-day Metropolis Pass until they start school and can benefit from a school transport card.

My accessible route

To enable people with disabilities to travel with peace of mind and prepare for their trip, the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis has put in place signage dedicated to accessibility information.

The presence of the handicap logo on the line map or timetables indicates the accessible stops on the line.

Similarly, placed at the front, under the windscreen of a vehicle and on the passenger access side (central door), the logo guarantees that the bus is equipped to accommodate passengers with reduced mobility.

Regarding the tram, no need for the logo: all trains and all stations are accessible!

Deaf or hard of hearing people can call La Métropole Mobilité stores or be greeted on site by an agent: the stores are all listed in the ACCEO directory.

This free application will allow you to communicate with agents using the communication method of your choice: French Sign Language, Complete Spoken Language, Subtitling and automatic transcription.

This is a stop specifically designed to guarantee people with disabilities or reduced mobility safe access to the platform, the stop post or the bus shelter and vehicles.

An accessible stop is indicated by the presence of the handicap logo on the route map or timetables.

These stops are arranged according to the following principles:

  1. The stops are aligned with the traffic lane, allowing the bus to dock perfectly aligned with the sidewalk and as close as possible.
  2. The sidewalk is raised to limit the difference in level between the vehicle floor and the platform to make it easier to board vehicles.
  3. The path to the platform is gently sloping to allow wheelchair users to access it independently.
  4. A waiting area, marked by the “wheelchair” pictogram, indicates where to position yourself to use the access ramp, facing the central door of the vehicle.
  5. A yellow square marking on the ground with a cross in the center marks the access ramp once you exit it. Be careful not to park in this area.
  6. A tactile “T” strip helps people with visual impairments find the front door of the vehicle. It also serves as a guide for the driver to correctly position the vehicle.

A bus or coach is said to be accessible when it is equipped with:

  • From an access ramp or a lifting device,
  • Audio and visual announcements of directions and stops,
  • A reserved space on board for people in wheelchairs.

An accessible bus or coach is indicated by the presence of the handicap logo at the front, under the windscreen of a vehicle and on the passenger access side (central door).

All buses and coaches in the Metropolis are equipped with visual and audio announcements providing information on the destination and the next stop.

A person in a wheelchair will position themselves at a stop at the logo drawn on the ground and set back from the edge of the sidewalk and the yellow cross. The access ramp can therefore exit without hindrance.

A blind or visually impaired person can position themselves using the tactile “T” strip that indicates the position of the vehicle’s front door. This will put them in a good position to hear the voice announcement when the door opens and to signal to the driver if they wish.

For a person in a wheelchair:

  • Boarding the bus is through the central door. Only wheelchair users and people with strollers or shopping carts may use the central door. The wheelchair user boards, positions themselves in the designated space marked with the wheelchair symbol, brakes applied, and faces away from the direction of travel.
  • In a bus, the driver secures the wheelchair to the vehicle. It is positioned facing the road. The passenger must have their seat belt fastened.

For a visually impaired person : it is advisable to use one of the spaces reserved for people who find it difficult to stand. These spaces are indicated by specific pictograms and are located at the front of the vehicle, generally on the driver’s seat side.

Guide dogs and assistance or support dogs equipped with their harness or vest are welcome on board all metropolitan vehicles.

For a person with reduced mobility (PRM), it is possible to use a specific entrance in each of the 29 stations in the network.

To do this, you must signal yourself using the intercom located near the access gates. An RTM agent will then open the PMR gate. You must still validate your ticket to gain access.

Wheelchair access is not yet available to all stations, and only nine are accessible. These stations are marked with the regulatory pictogram (white wheelchair logo on a blue square), as shown in the network map below.

accessible metro

The journey will therefore be made between 2 of the 9 accessible stations (with a possible connection between the 2 lines M1 and M2 in both directions at Saint-Charles station).

This service must be booked half a day in advance, with Mobimétropole (04.91.10.59.00), for both the outward and return journeys. An escort agent will then be available to the traveler: they will meet them at the entrance to the designated station and assist them at all stages of the journey (passing through the PMR gate, checking equipment and elevators, boarding/disembarking the train, etc.).

Throughout the metropolitan area, all tram stations are accessible. Each station is equipped sound beacons, activated using the universal remote control.

For blind or visually impaired people, the universal remote control makes it easier to approach the station by activating the traffic lights for crossings and audio announcements in the station. Tactile strips have also been positioned at each safe crossing of the tram track.

A tactile strip, installed along the platform, allows you to position yourself in relation to the track.

Access to the tram can be made from any door, but it is advisable to enter through the front and rear doors, near which the reserved spaces are located.

For a person in a wheelchair, priority spaces are provided near the two central doors of the tram.

It is therefore advisable to position yourself at these doors which can be identified by the presence of the logo .

For a person in a wheelchair, The reserved spaces are located near the two central doors of the tram. They can accommodate two people in wheelchairs.

The person must position themselves with their back to the window and must apply the brakes on their wheelchair.

For a visually impaired person : it is advisable to use one of the reserved seats. These seats are indicated by specific pictograms and are located at the front and rear of the tram.

Guide dogs and assistance or support dogs equipped with their harness or vest are welcome on board all metropolitan vehicles.
