The Low Emission Zone (ZFE)

The Low Emission Zone

The ZFE, or Low Emission Zone, is a legal obligation that exists in many French cities.

This is a measure implemented in the center of Marseille to combat air pollution. It aims to improve air quality in the city, which is beneficial for everyone’s health.

In this area, only vehicles with a Crit’Air 3, 2, 1 ou 0 sticker (electric) can circulate.

This restriction applies to cars, but also to utility vehicles, motorized two-wheelers and heavy goods vehicles. It applies every day and 24 hours a day.

The ZFE covers the heart of Marseille and is bordered by the main boulevards (Plombières, Jarret, Prado 2, etc.). Motorists should therefore pay attention to the signs and check whether their vehicle is authorized to drive in the ZFE.

To order your Crit’Air sticker to affix behind the windshield of your vehicle, connect to the website of the Ministry of Ecological Transition : https://www.certificat-air.gouv.fr/

To find out the Crit’Air category of your vehicle, enter the information from your registration certificate (or vehicle registration document) on this site.

⚠ Beware of intermediaries and fraudulent sites!

Administrative authorities and law enforcement do not send SMS messages to purchase a vignette.
